As with all things in life, this schedule is subject to change. While it’s unlikely to happen, we invite you to practice aparigraha and santosha if it does.

All events are rain or shine; be prepared with layers for rapid temperature changes, with the exception of lightning, which if forecasted, may require cancellation of a paddle session.

Rob and Melissa

Rob and Melissa Yoga and Kirtan
Seattle, WA

Rob and Melissa are Bhakti yogis, teachers and kirtan singers devoted to celebrating the divine through the practice of kirtan (call and response chanting).

When Rob and Melissa first met, neither of them sang kirtan or practiced Bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion). By the time they married two years later, the foundation of their partnership was a mutual desire to place love and devotion as their number one priorities. As these seeds of devotion grew, Rob and Melissa naturally gravitated toward kirtan and Bhakti yoga.

Rob has been an avid student of Bhakti yoga for nearly 20 years, and has been teaching since 2011. Some of Rob’s teachers include: Mataji Devi Vanamali (Rishikesh), Yogrishi Vishvaketu (Rishikesh), Govind Das (Bhakti Yoga Shala/LA), Jai Uttal and Michael Bernard Beckwith (Agape Spiritual Center).

Melissa has been teaching asana since 2012, and received her teacher training from 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in Seattle, WA. After a few years of consistent teaching and incorporating the spiritual aspects of yoga into her own practice, she completed the Bhakti teacher-training program at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, CA. Her teaching style, heavily influenced by her past experience as a dancer and aerialist, is playful, down-to-earth and inclusive. Whether teaching a physical class or leading a chant, Melissa’s fluidity, grace and joy are present in every breath.

Rob and Melissa are eternally grateful for the transformative yoga practice of kirtan, devotion and singing from the heart. Their personal mantra of “Be Nice and Have Fun” has become the foundation of their life philosophy, and their gift is sharing this joy through mantra and movement.
